| Description | Tiglyl-CoA, also known as tigloyl-CoA or tiglyl-coenzyme A, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as ortho cresols. These are organic compounds containing an ortho-cresol moiety, which consists of a benzene bearing one hydroxyl group at ring positions 1 and 2, respectively. Tiglyl-CoA is a strong basic compound (based on its pKa). Tiglyl-CoA exists in all living organisms, ranging from bacteria to humans. In humans, tiglyl-CoA is involved in the metabolic disorder called the 2-methyl-3-hydroxybutyryl-coa dehydrogenase deficiency pathway. Tiglyl-CoA is expected to be in Cannabis as all living plants are known to produce and metabolize it. |
