Description3-Ethylisoquinoline, also known as 3-ethyl-2-azanaphthalene, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as isoquinolines and derivatives. These are aromatic polycyclic compounds containing an isoquinoline moiety, which consists of a benzene ring fused to a pyridine ring and forming benzo[c]pyridine. 3-Ethylisoquinoline is a moderately basic compound. 3-Ethylisoquinoline is one of several structural isomers of ethylisoquinoline which is substituted by one ethyl group at different positions. 3-Ethylisoquinoline is an ethylated derivative of isoquinoline. 3-Ethylisoquinoline is also classified as an alkylisoquinoline. Ethylisoquinolines are found in marijuana smoke ( Ref:DOI ). 3-Ethylisoquinoline is formed during the combustion of cannabis.
