Cannabis Compound Identification
Common Name4-Ethyl-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole
Description4-Ethyl-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole or 3,5-dimethyl-4-ethyl-1H-pyrazole, an alkylpyrazole- an alkylated derivative of pyrazole, is one of several isomeric derivatives of pyrazole that contain two methyl and one ethyl substituents. It belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyrazoles. Pyrazoles are compounds containing a pyrazole ring, which is a five-member aromatic ring with two nitrogen atoms (at positions 1 and 2) and three carbon atoms. 4-Ethyl-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole is a strong basic compound. 4-Ethyl-3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole is formed during the combustion of cannabis and is therefore a constituent of cannabis smoke ( Ref:DOI ).
